Summer is flying

The days seem to fly and I often feel I have little to show for them.

I had such grand hopes to accomplish much this summer.

Why is it that my plans in my head seem so reasonable, and yet it is so hard to get it all done?

I've been very negligent of my blog this summer.  I will place some of the blame on my hard drive dying.  That isn't all of it though.  I've just been busy.

Working on plans for our  homeschool group.  And making a yearbook.

What I really want to do now - and need to do - is tackle more of my planning for the upcoming school year.  We will be starting soon.

I'm hoping to post more here again more regularly.

Just needing to get caught up.  I have done some fun reading this summer - both for myself and also aloud to the kids.  I love that we all enjoy reading.

Hoping that one day this little sweetie will know the pleasures of reading words for herself.  She already knows that books are a delight!

I hope your summer has been filled with sweet delights!

Blessings
Leslie

  3. My oldest daughter and I LOVE to read as well! My middle daughter has ADHD and really loves to be read to or with but struggles with her attention span when reading alone. I have high hopes for both her and my Vada (my youngest who has Down syndrome) to also be able to read and to comprehend and enjoy! Have you heard of Brillkids? Its a program that we bought for Vada to teach her reading. It's sight word based, which studies have shown our kiddos with Ds learn better than a phonics based program. Vada shows a HUGE interest in books, she always has a book in her hand. She is always pretending to read and now she even pretends to read out loud while pointing with her finger. So I feel that were off to a good start!
